CGE Energy Achieves 72% Lighting Energy Savings for Advanced Technology Academy with Cree LED
Posted on in NewsCGE Energy (CGE, currently trading as MKBY:OTCPink) recently completed a Cree® LED lighting project at Advanced Technology Academy (ATA), a Michigan public charter school. This Cree LED Lighting® upgrade is on track to save ATA over $255,000 in energy and maintenance costs over the next 10 years—a 72% reduction in lighting energy consumption.
“Advanced Technology Academy strives to be on the leading edge of technology while serving as an example of environmental stewardship and fiscal responsibility,” said Robert Wittmann, CFO of ATA. “With the school saving on our energy and maintenance costs, it allows our administrators to invest in other academic priorities.”
By saving in monthly operating costs, ATA’s energy project supports their project-based curriculum centered on the Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies initiative that encourages and prepares students for success in college and professional careers in fields such as business, engineering, health care and technology.
“Providing energy solutions for educational institutions is at the core of what we do, and Advanced Tech and their emphasis on engineering and technology education is no exception,” said Bryan Zaplitny, President/CEO of CGE. “The solution for ATA was installing the world-leading products like Cree® LED lighting and then supporting the ongoing maintenance of the entire lighting system through our RAMP lighting maintenance program.”
According to CGE, the company upgraded ATA’s outdated T12 interior fixtures to energy efficient T8 lamps. In the parking lot, all of ATA’s light poles and were upgraded to industry-leading Cree Edge™ High Output luminaires.
